Councillor Guy Nelson - ChairmanMy name is Guy Nelson and I moved to Wix in May 2008 from Dovercourt where I lived for the previous nineteen years. I was co-opted onto the Wix Parish council in August 2008.
I was brought up and went to school in West Oxfordshire; I went to University in Sheffield where I studied chemistry and then to Leeds where I did a PGCE. I moved to NE Essex in 1988 to take a teaching job at the Harwich School and in 1990 I started working at the Carless Refinery in Parkeston where I have been ever since. In my spare time I enjoy DIY, gardening, swimming and church bellringing. I ring the bells regularly at Mistley and I am trying to start a handbell team in Wix with a view to raising money for charity at Christmas. I also spend a lot of my spare time on Parish Council business, this can be anything from agreeing the meeting agenda with the clerk to running the annual village fireworks display or strimming around the edges and picking up rubbish on the village playing field. |

Councillor Kerry MitchellI moved to the lovely village of Wix 10 years ago, and during that time have enjoyed becoming part of an active community.
I am married with two grown up sons, and work full-time as CIO for an Electronics company based in Clacton-on-Sea. I am also the Wix Representative on the Tendring District Association of Local Councils, and help with organising events for the Wix Fayre. With any spare time I enjoy reading, eating out and cooking. |
